A parolee who fled from authorities Wednesday evening was arrested after an extensive search found him hiding in a backyard in Grover Beach.
At 5:30 p.m., members of the Sheriff's Gang Task Force tried to stop a vehicle driven by Troy Clowers III near the entrance to the Pismo Coast Village RV Park on Highway 1, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
Clowers, 28, was wanted for being a parolee at large, and was believed to be driving a stolen vehicle, according to the news release.
Instead of pulling over, Clowers drove away, according to officials. During the chase, Clowers reportedly hit several other vehicles, including an investigator's unmarked car.

Clowers eventually got out of the car and ran, according to the news release.
It was believed he was hiding in the yard of a home in the area, so a perimeter was set up and the Gang Task Force was joined by detectives from the Sheriff's Office Special Operations Unit, deputies from the Oceano substation, a CHP helicopter and officers from several nearby agencies.
K9 units from the Sheriff's Office and the Arroyo Grande Police Department found Clowers hiding in a backyard in the 100 block of Carmelde Lane in Grover Beach around 6:30 p.m., according to the news release.
He was arrested on suspicion of having narcotics for sale, possession of a handgun while trafficking in narcotics, possession of a stolen vehicle and a parole hold. Officials expected to file additional charges Thursday.
Clowers was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital to be treated for dog bites before being booked into County Jail.
