A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in the criminal case against a 28-year-old Greenfield woman accused of threatening two girls in Paso Robles in April.
Eliana Ramirez appeared in San Luis Obispo Superior Court today for a pre-preliminary hearing in a packed courtroom filled with her family members as well as relatives of the alleged victims.
Ramirez was arrested April 16. She pleaded not guilty to felony charges of attempted lewd act upon a child, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and false imprisonment by violence, as well as to two misdemeanor charges of child molestation. The preliminary hearing in the case is now set for July 23.
Police arrested Ramirez after investigating a report by the parents of two girls, ages 10 and 11.
A family member of the alleged victims told The Tribune outside of court that Ramirez was invited to the residence where the incident was reported after a day of wine tasting but didn’t know the girls. Ramirez was intoxicated and was taking shots of vodka at the home, the family member said.
The family member said Ramirez kept the girls in a bedroom and made sexually explicit comments and broke a lamp in the room, and one of the girls screamed. The girls weren’t physically harmed, the family member said.
Ramirez is free after posting a $100,000 bond.
