Three people were arrested Wednesday after allegedly breaking into the Colony Park Community Center and vandalizing it.
Nicholas Orlick, 19 and Tyler Wootton, 20, both of Atascadero and a 17-year-old teenager from Paso Robles were arrested on suspicion of breaking and entering and felony vandalism, according to police.
Damage outside the center, including broken light fixtures and a broken security camera, caught the eye of patrol officers around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday. Upon further investigation officers found that one of the glass doors leading into the building had been broken and a canvas awning was destroyed. The vandals had also broken into the concession stand at the nearby ball field and made a mess by opening soda cans and scattering other items inside, according to police. In all, the damages are estimated to be $6,693.
Police say that they used surveillance video and photos taken at the scene of all three suspects to identify them. Orlick and Wootton were booked in County Jail and the teenager from Paso Robles was booked into the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Detention Center.
