A 23-year-old Cal Poly student has turned himself into authorities in connection with the reported rape of a college-age woman at a fraternity Saturday, according to police.
Joseph Trupiano of San Luis Obispo and his attorney arrived at the San Luis Obispo Police Department about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police announced on Friday afternoon.
He was arrested and booked at San Luis Obispo County Jail, where his bail was set at $100,000.
Jail records indicate that he is no longer in custody there.
He is accused in the rape reported at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at 280 California Blvd. in San Luis Obispo
The victim, whose age was not disclosed, was drunk and unconscious at the time of the rape, police say. Her name is not being disclosed because she is the purported victim of a sex crime.
Police had said that the woman and the suspect were both attending a gathering at the fraternity house Saturday.
