A 20-year-old San Luis Obispo man was arrested by police early today for suspected burglary after he allegedly entered a home in the 100 block of Benton Street and stole some property.
A news release from San Luis Obispo police said Jesus Sotelo entered the home around 12:27 a.m. and took some possessions from the residence, as well as from an unlocked vehicle in the neighborhood. Sotelo fled the residence when he was confronted by occupants, police said.
After a bulletin was issued to officers on patrol, an officer found Sotelo a block from the home and arrested him. The property was returned to the victims. Police did not disclose what was stolen.
Sotelo was booked into County Jail in lieu of posting $50,000 bail on suspicion of burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon (a knife) and violation of probation.
