Update: A 23-year-old Los Osos man was arrested Tuesday night after a fight with his girlfriend and her parents at their home.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the home in the 800 block of Highland Drive just after 9 p.m., according to a news release.
Investigators say Chad Lindsey Harsch, 23, had been arguing with his girlfriend in the house they shared with her parents. The parents reportedly overheard threats made against them, and the father retrieved his shotgun for protection.
Harcsh and the father were outside the home when Harsch allegedly moved toward the father, who then fired a warning shot into the air, according to officials. Harsch allegedly picked up a hammer and began moving toward the father, and also vandalized a car nearby.
Several neighbors called 911. Deputies arrived and were able to deescalate the situation, according to the news release.
Harsch was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and making criminal threats. He was booked into County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Deputies responded to a call in the 800 block of Highland Drive at approximately 9:13 p.m., according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office. When they arrived, they found two men, one armed with a shotgun and the other with a hammer.
The duo had been involved in a family dispute prior to the shots being fired, according to the news release. No injuries were reported.
Deputies found both men in the street in front of their residence. Both were cooperative and taken to detectives for interviews and further investigation.
