A woman, her daughter and another young girl who had been reported missing after hiking north of Cambria have been found safe and uninjured, according to police.
Police made contact with the trio just before 10 p.m. Sunday, according to the Atascadero Police Department, which said the incident was caused by miscommunication.
The three have been reunited with their families.

The Atascadero Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in finding three hikers who went missing Saturday along Highway 1 somewhere between Cambria and Big Sur.
Two girls, ages 9 and 11, and the mother of one of the girls left Atascadero on Saturday to go for a day hike at an unknown location off Highway 1. At 5 p.m., one of the girls left a message telling her parents that they were in San Simeon. The three did not return home and have not been heard from in more than 24 hours.
Law enforcement agencies in San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties are searching for the missing hikers and their vehicle, and request that anyone with information contact the Atascadero Police Department at 805-461-5051.
The vehicle is a silver 2003 Suzuki XL7 4-door with California license plate: 5ERC681.
