Joseph Chavez, 35, of Guadalupe was arrested Saturday morning in Grover Beach on two outstanding warrants and on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a gun, among other charges. Police first arrived to see the man lying on the sidewalk; he then ran off and began jumping over fences.
A plea deal was reached in the DUI case of former television news anchor Paula Lopez Ochoa, who is scheduled to be sentenced to jail time and probation in July. Lopez worked as an anchor at KEYT and KCOY.
