The San Miguel Community Services District will conduct a public hearing next week on the proposed increase in trash collection rates.
The agreement between the CSD and San Miguel Garbage permits an annual rate increase based on the Consumer Price Index; they are asking for less than 1 percent.
Standard can service will go from $28.03 to $28.33 — an increase of 30 cents — with other service rates increasing accordingly. The pickup of white goods will continue with refrigerators, stoves, etc., collected at no additional cost by scheduled request.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Fire Department, 1150 Mission St. For information about garbage service call San Miguel Garbage at 467-9283.
