The Broncos’ cross country team ran very well in a dual meet against Santa Maria High School on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Coast Union. Although the Saints topped Coast, 26-39 (lowest score wins), the Coast Union girls won their portion of the event.
“Santa Maria has over 2,000 students,” said coach Jim Hurley, who shares
duties with Ayen Johnson. “I was certainly surprised and pleased to see the girls beat Santa Maria, and the boys weren’t embarrassed at all. So I think we’ll do very well against Atascadero this Saturday (Oct. 3).”
