The Pewter Plough Playhouse will present “Bell, Book and Candle,” John Van Druten’s classic comedy about love and witchcraft, Feb. 6 through March 8.
A young witch named Gillian can’t fall in love, but that doesn’t keep her from casting a spell on Shep so he will fall in love with her. Her offbeat family and an eccentric author add to the cast of characters in the production, directed by Chrys Barnes. The cast features Makayla DuBois, Gryphon Strom, Cory Schonauer, Jean Miller and Larry Barnes.
The engagement kicks off with a preview performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, and a gala champagne opening is planned for the following evening, also at 7:30. Performances continue on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 3 p.m., through March 8.
Ticket prices are $17 for preview night and $30 for the champagne opening. Seats for all other performances are priced at $22 for regular admission and $17 for students with ID. Groups of 10 or more receive a 10 percent discount with a single payment in advance.
