The Pewter Plough Playhouse will present the Readers’ Theatre production of “84 Charing Cross Road” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.
The cast of Janice Peters, Randall Lyon and Jane Wu will perform in an adaptation of Helene Hanff’s book by James Roose-Evans, directed by Anita Schwaber.
The script is based on the account of a 22-year correspondence between Hanff, a New York writer who loves old books, and London bookseller Frank Doel.
Tickets are $10, with all proceeds going to benefit the Plough’s scholarship program. Each year the playhouse awards two scholarships to Coast Union High School students interested in the arts.
Never miss a local story.
The Pub-At-The-Plough will be open before and after the play, with Dave Manion at the piano during intermission.
The playhouse is at 824 Main St. in the West Village. For tickets and information, phone 927-3877 or go online to boxoffice@ pewterploughplay house.org.
