The annual book fair at Santa Lucia Middle School will be earlier this year — from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday, Sept. 12-18, and 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.
The fair gives residents an opportunity to visit the campus at 2850 Schoolhouse Lane while helping fill the shelves in the school’s library.
Every book bought at the fair or online will earn the school credit for another book for the library. Shipping is free, and organizers can deliver purchases.
Hours will be extended for two special events designed to make shopping more convenient. The fair will reopen for Back-to-School Night, from 4:30
to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, and will open from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18 (with complimentary coffee and doughnuts for early-bird shoppers).
Also, shoppers can browse and buy online at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/santalucia.
According to the school’s librarian, Suzanne Kennedy, “If you would like to donate a book directly to our school library, choose the button “Classroom Wish List” and purchase a book from the list chosen by our staff. Thank you for supporting our efforts to encourage reading.”
