A short film titled “Technology ... It IS My School!” produced by Carlos Plummer, 13, of Cambria, earned an honorable mention in the inaugural White House Film festival.
The student-produced video, which highlights the use of innovative technology in Carlos’ school, California Virtual Academies, will soon be featured on the White House website and may also be shared this spring through official White House social media channels.
A panel of judges selected from White House staff chose finalists from more than 2,000 student entries based on creativity in expression of the theme, originality of the submission and technical quality of the final video product. About 125 of the entries earned honorable mention.
In a statement, judges lauded the entries “that demonstrated so much talent, hard work and enthusiasm for technology and learning.”
Never miss a local story.
The live stream event of the festival begins at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at www.whitehouse.gov/filmfestival.
