The Cambria Chamber of Commerce, which normally promotes in-town business, is sponsoring a trip to Italy in March.
It’s a fundraiser, according to Mary Ann Carson, chamber executive director, a trip put together by a company that targets its marketing to chamber groups. “The beauty for me,” she said, “is the chamber-travel agencies do all the work, handle the money, do the printing” and the other chores.
The Tuscany trip ($2,699 per person if deposited by Sept. 1) includes round-trip airfare, seven nights at first class hotels in Florence, Pisa & Lucca, Siena, Cinque Terra (optional), San Gimignano, the Chianti region and Montecatini, starting March 20. It’s open to everyone, not just chamber members.
An informational meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22, at Rabobank, 1070 Main St. The meeting is designed to explain about the fundraiser and how business people and others who take the trip will benefit while enjoying international travel.
