Cambria’s two Rotary Clubs have been honored for a $21,000 landscaping and beautification project that also improves public safety around the Cambria Veterans Memorial Flag Stand.
Rotary Club of Cambria and Cambria Sunrise Centennial Rotary Club coordinated with county Supervisor Bruce Gibson and county planning and public works departments, Cambria Community Services District and American Legion Post No. 432 to add a decorative and functional wooden fence and landscaping around the star-shaped monument.
The “Peace Park” is encircled by a county-built sidewalk that connects the hall’s driveway area to the walkway along Cambria Drive, making that path safer for pedestrians and motorists.
Representatives of the two Rotary clubs received proclamations from the services district July 25. The proclamations also commended contributions from Shana McCormick, owner of Great Gardens, Rotary District 5240, Randy and Nancy Flamm and John Patterson of John Patterson Construction Company.
Never miss a local story.
The document also noted that “all residents and visitors to Cambria have benefited from the generosity and true community support and service of the Rotary Clubs of Cambria.”
