Some of the most creative and beautiful decorated trees you will ever see will be showcased at the annual Cambria Festival of Trees. Sponsored by the Cambria Chamber of Commerce, this long-standing Cambria tradition will once again kick off the holiday season.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Veterans Memorial Building will be filled with trees, wreaths and holiday gifts, all offered in live and silent auctions, with all proceeds going to benefit San Luis Obispo County charities and nonprofit organizations. Last year’s event raised just over $17,000 for the cause.
Guests will enjoy a gourmet buffet offering foods from Cambria’s fine restaurants and coordinated by Dena Walston of Indigo Moon.
This year, in addition to fine wines from some of San Luis Obispo County’s finest wineries, guests will also be treated to microbrews and artisan beers from our two local beer shops.
The evening will also include joyful musical entertainment by the Santa Lucia Middle School Choir, adding to an atmosphere of celebration and camaraderie.
Donations of trees and wreaths, as well as items for the silent auction, are still being accepted.
Fourteen creative tree donors have already claimed their space and named their charity.
Organizations already named to benefit from the auction are: The Cambria Garden Club, Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 217, American Legion TS2, Santa Rosa Catholic Church, J&J Heller Cambria Dog Park, Friends of the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, Piedras Blancas Lighthouse Association, Cambria Education Foundation and the Cambria Historical Society.
Bidders will once again have the chance to choose where their donation goes with the “Choose Your Own Charity Tree.
Again this year Rabobank has donated $150 for the money-tree door prize that will be awarded to one lucky guest.
New this year is a second great door prize; a get-away basket that will include dinner, theater and an overnight stay in San Luis Obispo.
