The Piedras Blancas Light Station benefits from two “dress” affairs this month: A double-feature “Monster Bash” on Saturday, Oct. 20, in Cambria, and a twilight tour complete with historical reenactments at Piedras Blancas on Oct. 27.
The second annual “Monster Bash” features the showing of two movies: “The Monster of Piedras Blancas” and “The Redemption of the Monster of Piedras Blancas.”
There will also be a costume contest; attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite ghost or goblin.
Festivities start at 6 p.m.; movies start at 7. There will be raffle prizes and snacks. Admission is free; donations are welcome. The “Monster Bash” is at the Veterans Memorial Building, Cambria, 1000 Main St.
Never miss a local story.
For the twilight tour, guides in period attire will perform historic enactments. Weather permitting, the tours will offer oceanfront viewing of the sunset.
The two-hour tours start at 5:15, 5:30, 5:45 and 6 p.m. Adults pay $15. It costs $5 for ages 6 to 17, and children 5 and younger take the tour for free when accompanied by an adult.
