The past, present and future of Piedras Blancas Light Station and its circa 1875 lighthouse will be celebrated at a free event from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Hearst Castle Theater in the Castle Visitor Center.
The event, sponsored by the Piedras Blancas Light Station Association and volunteers, will include appetizers, wine, artwork, music and games. Among eateries signed up to donate food so far are: Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill, Robin’s, Wild Ginger, Sebastian’s Cafe-Deli, Boni’s Tacos, Las Cambritas, Madeline’s, Linn’s and San Simeon Beach Bar & Grill, along with Cookie Crock Market. Bakery contributors include the French Corner, Allocco’s Food Products and Red Moose Cookie Company.
There’s no admission fee, but sponsors would appreciate RSVPs to 927-3719 for planning purposes.
The association hopes to glean some new members from the event, which will highlight achievements during the last decade at the light station, along with plans for future tasks. Much of the work accomplished the past 10 years was done by volunteers.
