A 1-year-old girl who suffered major injuries when she was run over by a car driven by a family member in Cambria Tuesday, May 1, has returned home and “is doing really well,” according to the child’s mother.
The child initially was diagnosed as having a skull fracture, punctured lung, facial abrasions and a hematoma on the left side of her head. She was taken by ambulance to the Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center Trauma Center and then transferred to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.
Her mother Kristin Romero said Tuesday, May 8, that the child was released from the hospital on Thursday, May 3.
CHP doesn’t plan to pursue the case any further, considering it “an unfortunate accident,” according to officials.
