A dozen chefs, including Matt Beckett of Linn’s in Cambria, will present their best soups in a competition to be judged by celebrity judges Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Morro Bay Community Center. Chefs from Templeton, Atascadero, Cayucos, Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo also will compete in the event, themed this year as “A Carnival of Soup, Wine and Chocolate.”
New this year is a pairing of soups to wineries, and organizers also have added chocolate to the mix. Pastry chefs competing for “best cookies using chocolate” are Linn’s, Come Get Your Cookies of Grover Beach and Sweet Alexis Bakery of Los Osos. Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates will make chocolate for attendees to sample in the afternoon.
The event also will feature carnival entertainment, live and silent auctions, games and wildlife ambassadors.
Never miss a local story.
