OGDEN, Utah — The Cal Poly football team had two first-half turnovers and quickly fell behind Weber State as the Wildcats went on to a 47-14 blowout win over the Mustangs at Stewart Stadium today.
After scoring a touchdown on the opening drive, Cal Poly (4-7) watched Weber State (7-4) score five unanswered touchdowns and a field goal before the half as the Wildcats were trying to impress the Football Championship Subdivision playoff selection committee with a big score.
The loss makes four in a row for the Mustangs, and it's the first time Cal Poly has suffered such a streak since 2002, their last losing season before this year.
It was also the first time the Mustangs were winless on the road since since 1998, when the team went 0-6 under former coach Larry Welsh.
