UPDATE: Heavy rain possible in San Luis Obispo County next week

An unusually strong October storm could bring up to a half-inch of rain to San Luis Obispo County next week.
The storm is expected to move into Oregon and Northern California late Monday into Tuesday with gale force winds and moderate to heavy rain, according to John Lindsey, meteorologist at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.
The cold front should then move down the California coastline, causing southerly winds and mid- to high-level clouds Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
The front is forecast to pass over the county Tuesday night into early Wednesday, according to Lindsey. Rainfall totals could range between .33 and .5 inches.
There is another chance of rain the following weekend.
Today's high temperatures should range from the high 70s to low 80s inland and the mid 70s in the coastal valleys, according to Lindsey. The coastline will stay in the high 50s to the mid 60s.
The fog will return Thursday night through Friday morning, before burning off by Friday afternoon.
This weekend is forecast to be warm, Lindsey said, with the beaches reaching the mid 60s to low 70s and inland areas reaching the high 70s to low 80s.
