Comments (0) | Arroyo Grande attorney and rancher Mike Zimmerman, announced Friday that he will run for the Fourth District County Supervisory seat being vacated next year by Katcho Achadjian.
Zimmerman joins Arroyo Grande City Councilman Jim Guthrie in the contest for the spot, which will have been held for 12 years by Achadjian.

“We need some common sense on the board,” Zimmerman added. “Having been a business owner, along with giving business and legal advice to clients for over 30 years, uniquely qualifies me to provide that common sense and leadership which our county so desperately needs in these difficult times.”
Protection of agriculture is also a key issue, added Zimmerman, who has been a 4-H leader and is president of the San Luis Obispo County Range Improvement Association,
