Fire Chief Rob Roberson of the San Miguel Fire Department recently sent weed-abatement notices to all property owners in the district.
Residential properties must be kept mowed. Vegetation on all properties smaller than 5 acres must be mowed to less than 3 inches tall or cleared completely. Larger properties and fields must have a 50-foot firebreak around the perimeter of each 5-acre section.
Help keep San Miguel a fire-safe community. For more information or to have your property inspected, call 467-3388.
Service at Adobe
Never miss a local story.
The Friends of the Adobes invite all to the annual Memorial Service at the Estrella Adobe on Airport Road on Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.
This year, the Craspay family will be honored. This was the first protestant church in the area, built in 1878 by pioneers of the Estrella Plains. Some of those families are buried in the adjoining cemetery.
In 1952, the church was restored, rededicated in honor of the Estrella pioneers and is maintained by Friends of the Adobes. It is available for weddings, memorial services, christenings and musical programs. For information call 467-3357.
