The public is invited to a free community forum and film screening Wednesday in Paso Robles to bring awareness of drug and alcohol addiction in youth.
Hosted by the Kayla Peach Memorial Foundation, the event is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Park Cinemas, 1100 Pine St.
Kayla Peach was a Templeton resident who died in 2012 at age 24 after a morphine overdose, according to the foundation’s website, www.kaylapeachmemorialfoundation.org.
The film will be “Behind the Orange Curtain,” which addresses prescription drug abuse, according to a news release. After the film, guest speaker and producer Natalie Costa will speak.
Admission to the event is free.
Paso Robles Joint Unified School District issued the news release regarding the event, saying the district has joined efforts with the foundation to provide awareness, education and support for “our students and community regarding the unfortunate reality of drug and alcohol addiction.”
