On Friday, the department announced in a news release that results from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office determined that Nickolas Camara, 66, of San Luis Obispo, suffered a heart attack due to methamphetamine toxicity.
On the morning of July 25, police responded to reports from neighbors at the Silver City Mobile Home Park on the 3800 block of South Higuera Street that they hadn’t seen Camara for two days and he was not answering his door, Lt. John Bledsoe, who was in charge of the investigation, said at the time.
When officers arrived to the park, they were able to see a man lying on the living room floor through a window. They forced entry into the mobile home and confirmed that Camara was dead but also found items they deemed suspicious at the time. Officers then obtained a warrant to search the mobile home.
Bledsoe was not immediately available for additional information on Friday.
