Two road signs on Los Osos Valley Road have been redrafted to memorialize Los Osos resident Margay Edwards, whose body was found last month in Nevada.
The signs, made possible through county Public Works’ Adopt-a-Highway program, were installed this week on a two-mile stretch of LOVR that Edwards’ father, Jeff Edwards, previously adopted and has picked up trash on for about 10 years.
Jeff Edwards said his daughter would also pitch in to keep the stretch clean.
The signs can be seen by westbound traffic near Turri Road and by eastbound traffic approaching Clark Valley Road.
The memorial, which reads “Margay Edwards Forever in Our Hearts,” was drafted by a childhood friend of Margay Edwards.
Edwards' body was found Sept. 25 in Pahrump Valley, about 45 miles outside of Las Vegas. Her death remains under investigation by the Clark County Coroner's and the Nye County Sheriff’s Department.
