The CHP will hold a recruitment seminar in San Luis Obispo Friday evening as the agency starts the process to hire about 150 new officer positions statewide.
Beginning at 6 p.m., officers will speak and present videos about life at the academy and the duties of a CHP officer, the physical requirements, and walk applicants through the application process.
The seminar will be held at the CHP Coastal Division Office at 4115 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.
Officer Richard Lee of the Coastal Division said the agency hires about 150 officers every quarter and has fallen short of that goal in recent months.
Never miss a local story.
He said applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 35 and eventually meet a number of rigorous physical requirements once in the academy.
More information can be found by visiting the CHP careers website or by calling Lee at 593-3311.
