An investigation is ongoing into the cause of an early morning barn fire north of Morro Bay.
Three Cal Fire engines responded to an emergency call at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday on the 1400 block of Toro Creek Road and found the barn and a neighboring building and vegetation on fire.
The Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, Cayucos and Cambria fire departments also responded to the scene.
Cal Fire said in a news release that about a quarter of the barn was completely lost and estimated the damage at about $100,000.

Officials say the two buildings were occupied at the time of the fire and that a defensible space between the buildings and surrounding vegetation helped mitigate a larger brush fire.
