An Amtrak Coast Starlight train heading south to Los Angeles struck a pickup Wednesday afternoon in San Ardo, just north of San Luis Obispo County.
Amtrak spokeswoman Kimberly Woods said that at about 12:50 p.m., a pickup at a private farm crossing was struck and its cab became lodged under the train. The truck was severely damaged and shattered a window of a train car.
None of the 214 passengers and crew aboard were injured, Woods said, nor was the driver of the truck. It was not clear if the truck became stalled on the tracks.
Bus transportation was provided to all passengers, including those who needed to make connections on other trains in Los Angeles.
The Coast Starlight travels daily between Seattle and Los Angeles.
