The San Luis Obispo Vet Center will have an open house Thursday to mark the anniversary of 9/11.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the Vet Center — at 1070 Southwood Drive in San Luis Obispo — meet staff, learn about resources for veterans, ask questions, enjoy light snacks and enroll in Vet Center services. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m.
Vet Center services are earned through military service in a combat zone or area of hostility and are provided at no cost to veterans or their families, according to a news release.
Vet Centers also conduct community outreach and offer counseling on employment, family issues, education, bereavement or sexual harassment to combat veterans and family members.
