A fundraising event in Grover Beach in September will benefit child cancer research in the memory of a local child.
The second annual Grand Stand Luau will be hosted by Lemonade and Love for Sam, a group founded in 2013 to honor Sam Jeffers, a Grover Beach boy who died about a year after being diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer.
The event will be held Sept. 6 from noon to 4 p.m. at Ramona Garden Park, 993 Ramona Ave. in Grover Beach.
The fundraiser will feature music, games, a raffle, silent auction, food, face painting and arts and crafts.
Never miss a local story.
It is being held in partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating childhood cancers. Proceeds will go to that group; learn more or donate directly at http://www.alexslemonade.org/mypage/1114567.
Volunteers or anyone wanting to donate to the silent auction or raffle should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
