A movie with popcorn will be presented Thursday at the San Miguel Library at 3 p.m. Come in to cool down with a cool flick.
The library is a treasure trove of information and fun, and all you need is a free library card, which works at all county locations.
At the San Miguel Library, you will find books, audio books, movies, music CDs, a children’s area replete with selections for beginning and young readers, a special teen section, and Internet access for education and research.
Games in several formats may be checked out for a three-week period. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7 from the parking lot.
On Thursday, July 31, the next special summer program will be “Spark a Reaction,” combining substances to observe chemical reactions. This program is especially aimed at children in grades 6 to 12. Due to limited space, please sign up in advance at the library on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday afternoons or call 467-3224.
Thursday at the fair
Thursday at the Fair is Farmers and Cattlemen Day. Be sure to stop by the Farm Bureau Women booth in the Livestock area to pick up brooms and beans to help fund their scholarship program.
‘Guys and Dolls’
I and a couple of friends thoroughly enjoyed the Wine Country Theatre production of “Guys and Dolls” at the Berg Auditorium in the Paso Robles Youth Arts Foundation on 22nd and Spring streets last weekend.
This is their second effort, and there is a lot of talent in this new North County group of players. They romp and sing on stage for one more weekend. Tickets are at 800-838-9006 or visit winecountrytheatre.com.
