An Atascadero woman received major injuries Monday afternoon after her pickup truck drifted off the roadway in Paso Robles and overturned.
Debbie S. Hallmark, 48, was driving north on Highway 101 just south of South Spring Street around 2 p.m. Monday when she allowed her 2001 Ford F150 to drift left into the center divider for unknown reasons, according to Officer Adrian Ayala of the California Highway Patrol.
The truck then drifted abruptly to the right, traveling across both lanes and the right shoulder before heading down a steep dirt embankment and across the railroad tracks, Ayala said. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its side.
Hallmark was extricated from the truck and taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital in Templeton for treatment of a broken hand and left rib, Ayala said.

Her unidentified female passenger, a 13-year-old Atascadero resident, was not injured, he added.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Ayala said, adding that alcohol and drugs are not suspected to have contributed to the collision.
