The city of Pismo Beach is accepting applications until 5 p.m. Jan. 10 for six vacancies on the Chapman Estate Advisory Commission, which will recommend regulations and uses for the property, and use of estate funds.
The advisory commission will have a specific membership: one person from the Shell Beach Improvement Group; a San Luis Obispo Symphony board member; a San Luis Obispo Arts Council member; a neighborhood resident (defined as Cliff Avenue, Vista del Mar Avenue and Shell Beach Road); either a Shell Beach Garden Club member, or a student or staff member from Cal Poly’s Landscape Architecture or Horticulture and Crop Science departments; and one at-large member.

The council will interview and make appointments at a Jan. 21 meeting.
There also are vacancies on a Chapman Estate Task Force that will work with the commission to develop a framework for events at the estate.
