The Central Coast STEM Collaborative will present the first in a six-month series of Science After Dark lectures Wednesday.
Poncho Meisenheimer, director of chemistry research at Promega Biosciences in San Luis Obispo, will speak on the future of human identity, as well as the synthetic development of fluorescent dyes for DNA analysis, according to a news release. Meisenheimer will also share several forensic stories.
The lecture will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Luis Wine Bar in San Luis Obispo. Attendees must be 21 and older. Light appetizers will be available for purchase, or attendees may bring their own food. Beverages must be purchased at the establishment.
There will be a $5 cover charge.
