Using air and ground crews, firefighters from three agencies put out a 5-acre blaze Saturday afternoon that burned on the Cuesta Grade near Old Stagecoach Road and Highway 101.
About 109 firefighters from Cal Fire, San Luis Obispo City Fire Department and Los Padres National Forest responded to a report of the fire at 1:25 p.m., according to a Cal Fire news release. Three air tankers and a helicopter were used to attack the fire from the air, while nine engines, three bulldozers, and a water tanker were dispatched by the three agencies to work the fire on the ground.
The fire was brought under control by 2:09 p.m., according to the Cal Fire release. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
