The 22-year-old man who was hit by an Amtrak train in Pismo Beach on Tuesday has been identified as Mark Manuele of Pismo Beach, police said Wednesday.
Authorities reported Tuesday that he had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.
By Wednesday afternoon, he was listed as being in fair condition with his vital signs stable, a hospital spokesman said.
The train hit Manuele around 4:25 p.m. Tuesday at the train tracks near Highway 101 and Five Cities Drive.

“We believe he may have been riding his bike down the tracks and didn’t hear the train (in time),” Pismo Beach Police Cmdr. Jake Miller said Wednesday.
Police suspect that the train then clipped Manuele's bike and threw him, but authorities have not yet been able to interview the man, Miller added.
No other information was available Wednesday.
