Builders will now have an additional requirement to fulfill before obtaining permits to develop in Paso Robles.
The Paso Robles City Council recently implemented new state regulations for storm water runoff at construction sites, according to the city.
A sedimentation and erosion control plan is now required with all grading permits, regardless of size of project, city engineer John Falkenstien said.
“This is not new for projects 1 acre and larger, but is new for smaller projects,” he added.
Never miss a local story.
The requirement shouldn’t add time to the process of obtaining a permit within the city but “will inevitably add some cost to the developer in terms of plan preparation.” That cost would vary by developer. The city is looking to develop new streamlined guidelines to make the transition smoother, he added.
