San Luis Obispo’s Thursday night Farmers Market will celebrate its 30th anniversary Thursday with live entertainment downtown from 7 to 8:30 p.m., according to Diana Cotta at the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association. The entertainment includes local band The Mother Corn Shuckers, an eight-piece “Beergrass” ensemble, Cotta said. Their music is characterized by six-part harmonies and “foot-stompin’ melodies” with instruments such as the mandolin, banjo, harmonica, upright bass, washboard, slide guitar and fiddle, according to the event website.
In addition to the Nipomo and Higuera main stage, the Downtown Association will offer entertainment on all market side streets.
The Downtown Association and sponsors Cole Fiat, The Pacific Energy Co. and the city of San Luis Obispo are responsible for this year’s anniversary entertainment. For more details and information, please contact Diana Cotta at the Downtown Association at 541-0286.
