The Santa Barbara County Fair opens July 10 and features new attractions, including a mini carnival area for younger children, an all-female logging show and an educational exhibit exploring various parts of the world.
The annual event also features concerts and other entertainment acts, carnival rides, a country rodeo and a destruction derby. Each year, hundreds of youth from San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties show their animals, with a small stock auction scheduled for Friday and the junior livestock auction held Saturday.

Admission and carnival rides are $1 on opening day, and senior admission is $1 on Thursday. General admission during the fair is $6 for children ages 6 to 11 years old, $8 for those ages 12 to 61, and $6 for those over age 62.
