After a string of record heat, temperatures are expected to cool off this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Meanwhile, a summer swell is expected to arrive this morning.
Paso Robles, which experienced record-breaking triple-digit temperatures last weekend, is expected to have a high temperature of 80 today. San Luis Obispo, which also recorded high temperatures last week, is expected to reach 78 today.
Coastal temperatures will be cooler — about 60 in Morro Bay and 70 in Pismo Beach today.
Temperatures will warm up a little Sunday — to 93 in Paso Robles, 78 in San Luis Obispo and about 70 on the coast — becoming slightly warmer through the week.
The ocean temperature is also warming, according to PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey, who reports the water temperature will be between 54 and 59 degrees.
With an increasing northwest swell, waves this weekend are expected to be between 6 and 7 feet in some places today, decreasing by a foot Sunday.
