A 142-unit apartment complex proposed for Paso Robles’ east side passed its first stage of city approval earlier this month.
The Planning Commission voted 3-0, with Commissioners Doug Barth and Rob Nash absent, to recommend that the City Council approve the development, called Buena Vista Apartments. The council plans to hear the proposal at its June 4 meeting.
The application, filed by Don Benson on behalf of Arjun Buena Vista Properties LLC, is proposing to build the complex on 12.5 acres on the south side of Experimental Station Road between Buena Vista Drive and River Oaks Drive, according to the city. The site is off Highway 46 East.
Plans include two- and three-story buildings mixed with landscaping, parking, fencing and a walking path. Project meetings with existing neighbors resulted in some changes, such as agreeing to build shorter buildings on Experimental Station Road to help with concerns about views, according to the plan.
