If you would like to learn how to download library audio and e-books to your electronic devices, come to the San Miguel Library, 254 13th St., on Tuesday between noon and 4 p.m. County Adult Services Librarian Brian Coburn will be on hand to guide people through the process with hands-on instruction about the thousands of free e-book titles offered by the library. Attend a memorial service
Come to Friends of the Adobe annual memorial service at the Estrella Adobe Church on Airport Road on May 26 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. This year’s service is dedicated to Carol Smeltzer. Her son, Paul, will talk about their family and her life. Old-time hymns will be sung with Cactus Harris accompanying on the pump organ. Pastor Michael Garman of First Baptist Church in Paso Robles will give the message. Bruce Tuley and Joan Finley Crothers will talk about their family histories. Refreshments will be offered by the Questers.
Review a draft study
On May 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission San Miguel Parish Hall (behind the Mission) there will be a workshop to review the public draft of the Camp Roberts Joint Land Use Study, which is now available for comment. The project addresses the impacts that training activities at Camp Roberts could have on surrounding neighborhoods. San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties, along with several agencies, are working together with the military. To review the draft, go to www.camprobertsjlus.com. Public comment ends on Friday, May 31.
