The Templeton Community Services District's board of directors has named David Andres as the community's interim general manager.
The decision was made during a special meeting last week.
Andres, who has more than 30 years' experience in public service management, was among 56 applicants for the position, according to the district office.
Details on his work history were not immediately available, but officials said he's not from San Luis Obispo County.
A new leader is needed after former general manager Jeff Hodge unexpectedly resigned in December and left at the first of the year.
The interim position is expected to last three to six months until a permanent general manager is hired.
District officials previously said the temporary position pays $50 to $60 per hour, depending on qualifications, for 40 hours per week, with no benefits paid.
Andres is slated to start work on Thursday.
