People may see smoke on the west side of the North County today while authorities conduct a 48-acre planned burn on the south side of LakeNacimiento.
Three fire engines, three fire crews and a fire dozer crew are taking part, according to a news release from Cal Fire.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., smoke may be visible in the Lake Nacimiento and Adelaide areas for about two hours, officials said.
The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District and the California Air Resources Board are also on board to help minimize the impacts of smoke on the surrounding communities.

Those who smell smoke are encouraged to limit their time outdoors.
