A new group calling itself Change Paso Robles Now will hold its first public meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, organizers said.
The group formed in the aftermath of the controversy surrounding former Police Chief Lisa Solomon. She faced accusations by officers and former officers that she engaged in sexual harassment and ordered a quota of traffic-ticket enforcement. Solomon later resigned.
The city reached a $250,000 settlement with Solomon over her leaving the post, and that spurred some residents to question city leaders over their handling of Solomon's case.
Karen Daniels chairs Change Paso Robles Now, and she said Saturday's meeting is a starting point "to stimulate an open discussion about our basic expectations for local government, and to find common objectives."
Never miss a local story.
The meeting will be held at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, 2615 Buena Vista Drive. Daniels can be reached at 400-5652. The group can be emailed at CPRN2012@gmx.com. Its web address is www.CPRN2012.org.
