The woman who was killed in Paso Robles last week appears to have died from multiple stab wounds to the upper torso with a contributing factor of blunt force trauma to the head, according to preliminary autopsy results received by the Paso Robles Police Department.
Police identified the victim as Earlene Louise Grove, 61, of Paso Robles.
Her daughter, 36-year-old Sunni Daun Jackson, was arrested by police after the pair apparently had a dispute April 20 in a small one-bedroom granny unit on the 900 block of Olive Street.
The motive or what exactly occurred during the killing has not been disclosed but is expected to come out if the case goes to trial.
A neighbor said he heard the sound of "blood-curdling screams and breaking glass" during the incident before he called 911.
The San Luis Obispo County Coroner's Office performed the autopsy Wednesday. The official corner's report has not been completed, authorities said, and is expected in two weeks after final lab reports are conducted.
