A music-filled memorial to the late saxophone player Red Holloway will be held at the Cambria Veterans Hall on Sunday.
Holloway, who performed with a host of well-known musicians, including Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, Aretha Franklin, Sonny Rollins and Duke Ellington, died in Morro Bay on Feb. 25 at age 84.
The grand master of the most recent Pinedorado Festival in Cambria, he had been a resident of the town since 1987.
The free memorial will feature music — jazz and blues — and a video with stories about Holloway. The jazz lineup will feature bebop vibraphonist Charlie Shoemake.
Never miss a local story.
Donations to the Cambria Youth Music Scholarship Fund will be accepted.
The event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at 1000 Main St.
